Malfunction showing on dash: ABS, Brake assist & EPS warnings

I have experienced a problem with 3 warning lightson the heads-up display of my Merc E320 Avantgard (2002 reg). The ABS, brake assist and Electronic Programme Stability (EPS) warning lights have all come on, in a constant not intermittent fashion. I have not driven the car much just in case there is a genuine problem with these 3 functions.
Does anyone know whether this could be due to a damaged or faulty electrical connection, or is this something more serious? Has anyone experienced the same on this particular model? Are there any quick checks I can do myself?
Any replies will be well received.
Many thanks.

Was the battery dead when you last started it. if the battery is dead the car will lose the sync. of the steering angle sensor. to re-sync., start the car and turn the steering wheel from lock to lock (all the way left and then all the way right) a couple of times. this will relearn the sensor. if not then it could possibly be a stop lamp switch. best bet is have the codes pulled and see what is cuasing the light.

My '02 did the same thing and it turned out to be a dirty ABS sensor in the brakes. Since the ABS is part of the EPS system and it is not communicating with the other computer components it will trigger ALL the involved systems. Have a reputable mechanic check the system codes and check the brake pads and rotors while in there for wear. Many times the sensors just get unhappy when there is something like a new battery installed( or a dead one jumped) and there is a proceedure to reset it or just shuting the car off and restarting it will reset the computers. Good luck, Bob

Ohlord,
So the brake switch was the real culprit? It was an intermittent issue and I did end up selling this car to my mechanics wife, so I guess that I will follow up with this recommendation if she has it happen to her. By the way, what can you tell me about this models' door lock gremlins? Regards, Bob Raymond.
