Default ABS/ESP/BAS warnings - help please

Hello - I disconnected my front hub on a 2001 C320 and now theABS/ESP/BAS warning messages are coming on. I guess I anticipated this but I am not sure how to reset the ABS sensor!! Is this something I can do on my own or do I need to go to the dealer? and if the dealer is the only option, does anyone know how much it will cost to reset the ABS???

Thank you in advance.

Joe

Default RE: ABS/ESP/BAS warnings - help please

I recently had BAS/EPS message appearing in my 2001 C320. These were two different messages. Initially I got BAS brake assist, visit workshop. I then parked my car for a while and disconnected its battery. When I reconnected battery it started giving me EPS visit workshop error message as well. This is how I got rid of these messages. I am not sure if it will help in your case but worth trying and doesn't cost much (15-30 dollars, depending on the price of switch in your area). Part # of switch is 0015453809.

To resolve EPS error message, Just lock the steering on full left, wait for 4-5 seconds, the full right, wait for 4-5 seconds and then centre and wait for 30 seconds. Turn off engine and start again, EPS will go away.

To resolve BAS issue: Just replace the brake light switch, its almost 30 dollars in Canada. In US, it may be 15 dollars or so. Here are the instructions to change that.

Good Luck.
