Default Learning curve

Hello All,

As part of my Mercedes Benz learning can you please tell me the model numbers and model year changes for the E class saloon and estate, from around 2000 onwards. I'm interested in buying an E class estate and I expect I'll be asking for some advice off you guys so it would be good for me to know the basics.
Can you tell me if the current model is a long as the one it replaced in around 2002, which appears to have been huge?

Thanks,

1996- 2002 was the 210 body style the cars were e320 /e430
2003 was the first of 211 body style the new ones driving around that have the brake by wire sys (sbc)
my opinion stay away from 2003-2006 models too many electrical issues and oil comsumption problems with the new v-6 e350
the most bullit proof in my opinion is the 2001-2002 e 320 ,430 210 body style i know more techs driving w124 and w210 body cars and runnin g and screaming from the new 211
