Default RE: LEAKS IN AIR CONDITIONER EVAPORATOR AND COMPRESSOR

I took my 97 E320 to a small local non Mercedes shop a few years ago for the same problem. I save a lot of money, but I took a chance. It worked out fine for me, but make sure the people doing the work know what they are doing.

Most of the cost is labor as you well know. For that reason they should replace other parts that have chance of failing such as heater core, temp sensor, etc.

Good luck

replacing evaporator is alot of work.. alot of things in the car u need to remove in order for u to get to it.. and as for compressor it's much easier to replace..

my advice is that if u wanna do it outside(not MB dealer)..make sure u get the right person to do it..
i guess this didn't help much...anyway

good luck!
