Default Keyless Entry Options Needed

Looking for advice for my keyless entry on 1996 E320. Dealer advised that the key was no longer transmitting (after replacing the batteries for $9.50 [:@] )

So, is there any known alternative to the $150 or so I will have to spend at the dealer to get a new key?

Thanks in advance.

Jimmy

They sell MB Smart Keys and regular keys with the integrated key blades on E-bay and the dealer can reprogam the car to the new key (well they can with the smart key at least). What they would charge for that I don't know.

I.ve been through this routine before..... mine is a 1997 e320 with the infra red key.... if yours is the same, dont bother with eBay.... they won't work. Put down the $150 and curse the Merc dealer.... that's all you can do.
