Default Intermittent Starting 95 E320

The car starts and then it won't start. The car cranks but no spark. The mechanic does not get any faults on the computer. The car can start 30-40 times in a row and then not start. Sometimes have to just keep turning key and it starts, sometimes not. Mechanic checked cam/crankshaft sensor, throttle positioning sensor, ingintion sensor, fuel, etc. They are stumped. It is not a fuel issue. Also, not sure if it's related. The wipeshield wipers sometimes won't work so if I leave them on they will kick in after 10 minutes or so, like something stuch with a relay or something. Same with the rear defroster. Are the ingitiion, wipers and defroster in the same circuit somewhere?

I know intermittent problems are a tough call. Any ideas. The main CPU unit is too expensive to just try and see if it's the problem.

Thanks, the crankshaft sensor was replaced, did not fix problem. The mechanic did not charge me since it did not fix problem. How does the coil come into play with this problem.

your problem is on the ignition side.

crankshaft positio sensor send signal to ezl>>>ezl controls the ignition coil.

make sure that the ignition cable is good. the ezl is okay since it can work sometimes.

check the resistance of the ignition coil and cables. if all are good, then you got loose wiring or connectors somewhere.

Hi, thanks for the info. I do not see an ignition coil on the 95 E320. Any other suggestions. Also, the turn signal does not come on right away. If I leave the turn signal in the on position it will come one when I go over a bump. You can hear a switch or relay activating/pulsing. This also has something to do with rear window defroster. Could this be the relay. Any advice on these issues. Thanks

95 E320--- cold solder joint cracked in the over load protection relay, disrupts power to HFM computer. I've ran into this problem a few times. The relay is on the right side of eng compartment near the battery, has a white top with fuse in it. When it disrupts power it leaves no codes.
