intermittent start NOT CPS problem
Hello Guys. Here goes. First of all NO CODES. E-320 1998. Electronic ignition. Battery test (twice ) very good. CPS replaced. Starter sounds strong when car turns over, but I replaced it anyway with a started from a ML320 that was sold out for parts ( rear end totaled ) . I purchased a few years ago items off this low mileage vehicle.
Random problem with car turning over. Car will go for days with no problem. Then put key in, turn, crank plunk ( like a dead battery ) take key out, might do it again, maybe even three times.
I'll wait 30 seconds turn key-car starts up like new?. Car has always started has not left me stranded yet?. Is the key going bad? I replaced the batteries, cleaned the red tip and the ignition face.
Anyone with any idea's of whats happening? If it was the starter would not a code show up?
Ignition problems, key, why no code?
Thanks, Jack
