Default interior light

1994 e320 wagon The interior light does not come on when the door is openned. The manuel switch works from the light - but not the auot part.??? I wonder if the entire light assembly comes out and the switch is bad or??????

the overhead interior lamp receives ground signal from the door switches. expose it and check if you get any ground signal by actuating each door switches. if you do, then have that unit repair or replaced.

you have no problem with power supply because it works manually, so fuse and wiring is ok.

just pry it off slowly. you can also feel the point where it is going to break if you go further. use a flat screwdriver.

thank you that worked well. It seems the switch itself is not working on a couple of settings. I will have to replace it. sincerely Lee Josephs
