Default how to connect ignition wire to spark plug connector?

Hi, I have an 88 300ce. I need to change a spark plug connector. My problem is how to connect the ignition wire to the connector itself. Do I just need to insert the wire into the connector's rubber hole? But that doesn't seem to be secure enough as I am afraid that would lead to bad connection. Please advise. Thanks.

Wawago.

Plug wires have a conductor running down the center of the wire. The conductor must be connected to the metal connector (usually threaded through a hole) which inturn will be fitted to the spark plug. The connector should be crimped to the plug wire to prevent it from falling off. Of course the ruber boot goes over both.
