Default Hey Everyone! + ?'s

Hello to the MB community. My name is Jamie. I just joined the boards today and I am excited to start learning more about theMB world. Even though I am new to this community, I am not new to the car scene, nor car forums. I have also owned a99 Cougar (full show car) and a 1955 Ford Customline as well.I did most of the work myself (well my dad was included on the 55Ford)on both those cars, especially the audio, video, suspensionand lighting.
Anyway, I have been in the market for a new car when all of the sudden a good friend blessed me by giving me his old car. Hence, I now am the proud owner of a '95 E320 that has been very well taken care of (especially mechanically/electronic's). It is Brilliant Emerald with Parchment leather and has the 3.2 liter. I have always loved Mercedes andthoughtthey were very attractive. Also more importantly they have greatperformance specs (especially your higher end sport models), butwith all my interest in cars on a general scale then Mercedes is probably one of theMake's that I am a little less familiar withwhen it comes to finding parts andunderstanding their layout.
Anyway, I am excited to start tearing into it and making it my own. I already startedsearching around on the forums, but still didn't really find exactly what I was looking for. It's a little harder to find info on here, since this forum is such a broad range of models and years for the MB.If these have already been answeredplease give me a link. If not but you think you have answers please let me know.Any help would be greatly appreiciated.

1. What is the easiest way to remove the gauge cluster? I have the electronic telescoping steering wheel so I am hoping to stay away from removing the steering wheel, mainly just to not have to worry about the airbag. I did run across this tech page which explains it:
http://202tech.mkosonen.com/howtos.html
It seems like everything would be pretty much exact, but I just wasn't sure since that is a 94 C280. It seems pretty much the same, but if anyone has actually pulled the '95 E320 cluster let me know of anything that might help. For now I am just taking it out in order to make the gauge cluster lighting blueinstead of the factory white lighting.

2. Is it just clips holding down the main console area (HVAC controls/radio area)? I noticed the two phillips screws right above where the Radio DIN is. I just didn't want to start working on it and crack the "wood". I am wanting to open that up to change the color to blue as well.

3. Does anyone know of a place where I can purchase seat replacements? The passenger/rearseats are in excellent condition, but the drivers seat is a little worn and cracked. I would like to get a new skin to place over it. Does anyone know a place that sells replacements?

4. Is it easy to get ahold of a wiring harness adaptor (like would Best Buy/ Circuit City have it)in order to install an aftermarket cd player on a MB, or is it something I need to order in advance?

That's all I can think of for now, I apprecaite everyones help and I look froward to getting to know oeveryone here on the boards. Thanks

-Jamie

Hey DPerez320,

That's pretty cool. I definately wasn't expecting to run across another NECO member my first day on the boards.Haha (the emoticons definately aren't as cool on here[8D]) Was your name the same on the newcougar forums? Mine was. I was a part of the Ohio chapter. Unfortunately however I never got a chance to go to a Cougarfest. Thanks for the help. I've already began the search on good ol' eBay. I live eBay.
