Help with a 1985 190e?
Hi all -
I have a 1985 Mercedes 190e that was brought to the US after it was sold to the original owner somewhere in Germany - some of the dealers here call it a "gray-market" US import.
The car is in good working order - good engine, newish tires, auto windows, locks, etc. 5-speed, automatic, good stereo...
I am trying to find out an approximate value for the car. Blue Book only goes back to 1987 and lists cars that are in excellent condition, but I would list mine as only a step above "poor:" the car works great but after an unfortunate accident, the truck rarely will open and the hood is bent funny (but still closes and there is no damage to the engine, grill, or bumper).
Does anyone know how I would value my car? I now drive a new car and am trying to sell this older (but still beloved) one. My plans are to probably sell it for parts, or to a lot where it would be taken apart as necessary. I thought perhaps a round $500 would be fair - I bought the car for $2000 in great working order three years ago.
Any thoughts?
Thank you!

Does it drive?
$500 if not $300 for parts.
who in their right mind would pay 3k for an 86 you may have had interest but what did you sell it for ,if it ever sold?an 86 in so so condition is worth about a grand on the best day of it's life.
