I just picked up a 2001 E320. My first MB.
I have been reading this forum for 2 hrs now and have not found what I need , so I post..

I am putting in a 7" flip out LCD that is a tiny bit larger that the factory unit, I will need to modify the "wood" surround ... So my question #1 really is, how does that fake wood piece come off?

Is there a way to remove the roof racks???? Has anyone done this? Any Advice??

must take out radio and climate control unit first. i believe it just pulls out with a firm pull. im checking on that right now.....you do mean the wood around the radio right?? when you take out climate control unit and the radio there will be 2 screws to access. then at bottom of wood pull out and then down out from under center vent.
