Default hard start 87 300E

okaaay..I'm thinking my wire pulling on the inst. panel is not related-everythings connected there. I have new fuel filtre, new plugs and wires..could it be the fuel pump? She will crank after a minute or so of cursing and trying..then she runs smoooth and nice, after she sounds like shes going to sputter out of course, but after I round the block and stop at the first stop sign-shes running smooth. I checked that relay behind the battery, too-the fuse is fine. Could the relay be going or gone and how do I check? What elsecould this be? Is there a fuse for the fuel pump and if so, WHERE IS IT?? THANKs!!

If the fuel pump wasn't working your car wouldn't start, so I don't beleive it's that. What it sounds like to me is your getting air into the fuel system, have you checked to make sure you have no leaks at the fuel filter after you changed it? Do you have the filter installed correctly?
