When filling the tank with gas the fuel will back up in the filler pipe and overflow, i have to fill it really slow and stop constantly to stop from overflowing.

The mechanic said he used compressed air in the vent tube but it the gas still backs up. Not sure what the issue is, my gf just got the car so i haven't had much time to look at it.

Hello, My Merc fills fine. However I have a oddball Daewoo Plus a more common one. The oddball Nubira has a slightly smaller fill line, roughly 1/4 inch less and is a pain at the pump to fill. You possibly have a too small tube related issue. Allan

 

Thanks for the reply. I got a scope now to look into the filler tube, I'll try that to see if i can see anything.
