Footwell lights always on and dim?
Hi,
Just noticed that none of the footwell lights work when any door is opened, but they are on all the time with very dim (almost amber) light whilst driving and the headlights on.
Any ideas? Bulbs? Wiring? Yet another trip to MB
Help (again) please.

RE: Footwell lights always on and dim?
hi,
So what makes you think anything is wrong.
That is the way it is supposed to work, at least on the w220 S Class.
I assume that the lights go off when the headlamps are off.

RE: Footwell lights always on and dim?
Hello.
In the past, when a door was open, the footwell light would come on and light up the floor in the car etc. Then when the door is shut it goe's off. And yes they only operate when the lights are on.
Hence, they are not working when the door's are opened but just stay on dim all the time when the lights are on.
Anyone else had this problem?

On my S Class these rear footwell lights stay on all the time the headlights are on. They only go off if the headlights go off. Like the lights that illuminate the door handles and seat switches.
They are dim so that they are not too obtrusive.
