RE: EPC problem
Your car has gone into "limp homemode"... You will not get much in the way of acceleration until the problem triggering this condition is corrected. If you have an OBD-II reader, pull the codes and post them here so that some for the forum members can assist you in sorting this out.
If you don't have a reader, then take the car to an Auto Zone store and they will pull the codes for you. Just get the codes, and the clerk's interpretation of them...

RE: EPC problem
Where are you located?
pULL THE codes per above, although diesels are prone to throwing the limp mode and fine on start only to trip the mode again.Clean the EGR valve tube it is most likely blocked ,and check all hoses to the egr for wear cracks etc. symptoms also can indicate a dirty mass air sensor, crc brand maf cleaner will clean it.

I have a Mercedes E220 CDI Automatic 2002. The pick up is not as powerful as it used to be. My friend told me about the small button behind the accelerator which gives more power. I did that on which my screen read EPC problem. What is this problem? Please help.
