I'm confused as well. You make it sound as if the engine and trans are falling apart, yet you say it runs OK and pulls good. You need to take it to a mechanic who can hear the sounds.

BTW, is there any smoke coming out of the tailpipe when you accelerate?

Yes, there is some smoke coming out...... but I passed an emission test easily !!!
The engine and trans are not falling apart, they just do things that bother me !!!
