Hey guys i was looking on the internet and i found this really nice e500 amg i am thinking about buying, Has 370 plus horsepower and hits 60 in 4.9 which is impressive for a e500, so what do you guys think about this one. Also its a amg kit but enhanced engine.

There is no E500 amg so it is not an amg,carfax listed it as a lease return car with excessive miles at 20k a year.If somebody modded the engine to 70h.p. more then stock,they probably drove it like they stole it.Are you the diy type?have you checked what a simple brake job costs on an E500 if you are unable to do it yourself?

Ebay lists 44 cars sold on ebay records and they claim 750,000 (205 cars a day every day for 10 years) sold on ebay,something smells fishier than just the car

LOL Thats funny because when i purchased my 2002 E320 Sport it had an AMG badge on the back also. Like OHLORD said Even thoue there is no E500 AMG or an e320 amg. I think the only reson that the previous owner but that on is because it kinda does look like an E55 but it doesnt have the motor or the performance.

 

Look very closely at the trunk, this vehicle has been repainted. Supported evidence is no Vin # sticker in on the back of the trunk where the licence plate goes. Check very closely on this.

 

Thats good advise, i checked the car and its great, i inspected it myself and it is very fast and lives up to the description of 0-60 in 4.9. I also checked the trunk for the vin sticker and you can still see the sticker mark, and also felt the paint and it wasnt repainted. Also i asked the seller about the 750,000 sold, and that is in dollars, so he sold over $750,000 in vehicles which is what i accpected, the guy seemed very trusty, and he didnt mind all of the questions i had for him, i will have to look into this more, and maybe even bid on the car.

Caveat emptor
get a professional inspection,not a seat of the pants, money burning a hole in your pocket inspection.The warranty is unspecified,the car is being sold no reserve,don't say we did not warn you.

From the pic's it looks as though the latest SBC recall has not been performed...makes me wonder what else carfax is wrong about.
