I started the car up and the exhaust just blew (the noise was like a drag racing car) with no prior indication of anything wrong. My car is a E36 AMG and is a 1996 model. I normally park on the drive but because of work being carried out on the house had parked on the road. I am having problems locating someone to fix or talk about what has happened.

 

Found the problem, someone has cut off the catalytic converter and sensor.
