Default E350 Tire Pressure

Does anyone know what the correct tire pressure is on a 2007 E350 with continental contiprocontact tires. Fuel door says up to 100mph Front 28 Rear 33, 100mph + front 29 rear 35. There is no label on the doors posts. Dealer put 38 rear and 36 front. Just bought the car and I would like to have my tires at the correct pressure. The tires was front 55 rear 60 before the mechanic changed it. The Mechanic said that was the cause of the oscillating sound I was getting at 50 mph and up. Sound is still there but that is another story.
Thanks in advance

You could use my spreadsheet , in wich I use the same equation that the European car- and tyre-manufacturers use to determine the advice pressures.
They use the Gross axle weight ratings front for weigt to fill in the equation.
For back they use some more to cover over- and shifted loading wich is at the back often the case.
But if you are yust alone in the car the back mostly can be lower then the front.
This could explane why the oscilating sound is still there , the pressure at the back is still to high probably.

In this map the spreadsheet for re-calculating when other then original tyres.
But can also be used for checking the original.
And there is a field for "your own input" where you can fill in when you weighed your car per axle. The first part for determining the loads they calculated with for normal use advice cant be used nowadays , because that is seldomly given nowadays, and only workes when the original is calculated the classic European way.

The pressures on the gas door label work fine on my '07 E350 Sport. Have you tried them?

Thanks Heatwave for the info. I have not tried the gas door pressures, guess I should try those pressures and see what happens. Did you notice any abnormal tire ware with those pressures?

Towtruck: Negative on "abnormal tire wear." We recently completed a 3316-mile trip out West. I aired the tires to the gas door's recommendations for "more than 100 mph" for the outbound trip, then lowered them to the "up to 100 mph" settings for the return. The difference in air pressures was just a coupla pounds or so. Nothing big. We averaged a cumulative 29.7 mpg for the whole trip. I couldn't tell any differences one way or another in the way the car rode, drove, braked, or otherwise handled. I'm leaving the pressures at the standard "below 100 mph" settings. We encountered exceptionally strong winds in New Mexico ... gusts to 70 mph, according to local weather reports. Big rig trucks were getting blown over. Cars were being blown off the highway. The MB handled straight and true.

And my tires are Continental "ContiProContact" ... 245/40R18 front and 265/35R18 rear.

Thanks Heatwave. I set the tires at the gas filler cover recommended pressure this morning. Your input is very much appreciated.
