E320 known problem areas 90s
Greetings All,
I am in the market for a 90's vintage E320 sedan or possibly even a coupe.
I have been reading about potential problem areas in the forum including the wiring harness problem in 94-95
Those early to mid 90's seem to be common and a good used car value these days.
Many seem to feel that the cars suffered quality control problems in 96 and later years. I would appreciate any educated opinions on this topic.
I would like to find a mint car with low miles of that vintage. I think the straight 3.2 liter with 24 valves is the most desirable engine. I have learned that there is a wiring harness problem that is a major expense on the 94-95 models and wonder if most 10 year old cars would have had it replaced by now and if there are other significant problems that occured in certain model years?
Has anyone made of list of expected maintenance items and at what mileage interval they should be handled?
I am the kind of owner who generally performs maintenance before failure and keeps the car as close to mint condition as possible.
Thanks for any help,
Paul
