Ok, took a 500 mile round trip this weekend and got an average of 28.8 mpg. I guess all the city driving was killing me.

Challenge yourself.... ensure the tires are inflated properly, ensure the air filter is fresh, ensure your car is tuned and the oil is fresh... empty the golf clubs from the trunk... wash the car and drive in a stately but direct manner. I'll bet you can nudge that 28 mpg up to 30 with no issues. Make it a game and you will really get into this crap. It's addictive. I can't fill up without busting out the calculator from the center console. My wife thinks its ridiculous. Have fun.

26.495 MPG on yesterday's fill up. Mostly mixed, 50% hwy, 50% city driving. Didn't use the A/C much but did open it up on the interstate a few times. 90 MPH sprints for no more than a mile before the exit came up. Purrs like a kitten. What a car...

 

I put 17'' rims on it and I am now getting 32 mpg on longer hwy trips, average around town is 22 mpg.

 

I own a 2001 E320 with about 114,000 miles consistently get 29.5 to 30. on highway with speed set at 75 mph. Only use premium align os good per Reno MD dealer. new Mich Primacy tires, a dream to drive use Castro; Syntec 5W-30. happy driving
