We're in the research phase to buy a car that will last a good long while. I want a diesel engine for longevity and economy, even though this limits selection right now in the US. I'm intrigued by the MB reputation (never owned one before). Plus, in MD all wheel drive is essential in winter. Would you all recommend the E320 CDI? Does anyone know if it will be available in all wheel drive? Is there a better alternative?

my e320cdi wagon has been really good to me. good gas mileage. and with carlssons aftermarket 450lb-ft and 250hp its not slow either

 

CDI engine is better than gasoline engine.
