Default E Class Purchase

I have been the proud owner of several S-Class Mercedes for almost the past 20 years. I am considering purchasing a 97,98,99 E320 with high mileage and relatively cheap (5-6k) for my teenage daughters's first car. Anything significant to be aware of or to avoid? thanks .DAN

Default You most likely

won't find a 99 for that low a price.8 grand will get you a nice 98 with low miles.97 will be the older version M104 engine. For a teen the 95 w124 with low miles is another option if all the upgrades were performed. They had wire harness and head gasket problems, find one that had those issues taken care of and you will have her in safe hands.Where are you located?Don't buy from a dealer.Have it inspected.

Default Deals are out there

1998 and 1999 model E320s can be had out there with 120K+ miles on the clock for around 5-8 grand depending on condition.

Buy after a close inspection and have your indie mechanic check it out. It's a safe car and your daughter will enjoy the ride. Teach her how to get the most out of the car and she should fall in love with it. My wife has started to like my car... and it's only taken 3 years! Ha! Good luck.
