Default Driving light issues

I have a 2001 E430 with the sport package. Noticed that the passenger driving light was out. Got underneath and took out the burned bulb.

Went down to O'Reilly's auto parts store.

Bought a Sylvania replacement H3 12V 55W bulb did the replacement and NOTHING still no light. Funny thing is now my instrument panel does not show that there's a light malfunction?

Question is do I need a special bulb?

The one brunt out bulb looks like it was gas sealed and it's all blue in color in it's brunt stage. Checked the fuses, all looks good.

Do you mean the fog lights?? if you do. usually there is a grounding issue and there is a repair kit available at the dealership. Basically they give you a new harness and socket to solder in.

Hello Chassis 221, Thanks for the follow up to my question. So the bottom lights are still consider the fog light...even on the sports package. Ok thanks for the clarification. Funny I put a volt meter to the lead wire and housing and it get's like 11.5V reading so it's getting power. Anymore thoughts or shall I just go get the repair kit and call it a day and hope it fixes the problem?
