Default Diesel Starter

I've got a 1987 D Turbo with about 200,000 miles and replaced a starter at about 70,000 miles (drive failed) and am just now going to do it again. Sounds just like a drive failure again almost for sure.
Just wondering if others have similar experience?

Otherwise it's been mostly OK
Evaporator replaced,,,,,corrosion leak
One set of brake discs
Cylinder head gasket replaced. (Questionable if needed)

Would be pleased to hear of others experiences with this machine or
of other good sources of info about it.

It still runs and handles very pleasingly
Thanks
David

mbworld.org,benzworld.org,both more populated sites with bigger data bases for your model.Don't abandon this one tho at times people come up with great ideas.
