How old is the car. It is hard to believe that "slamming" the trunk would break the wires.

Probably they were ready to go and the slam was just the trigger.

I know, not what you wanted to hear.

Were the taillights cracked? seems odd that it all happened at the same time.

Maybe the MB dealer tried shot-gunning the problem before finding out the real issue.

most likely, the same repair needs to be performed again. if the job wasn't done properly, the wires could break again, that's probably the same issue. I would take it back to where you had it fixed last time. the wires that break should be replaced with about 8-12 inches of new wire. if the wires were just simply soldered back together, its going to break again.

You can't slam the trunk that breakes the actuator pull down motor? I can't imagine how they charged you all that money.

It's a 2003 Mercedes E500 Sport
Purchased from: Sewell Lexus in FW, TX April 2012 @ 65,000 Miles, & now 79,000 Miles
*Now the Driver's Side sits low to the ground when in Park. Is this similiar to the Air Shock
Suspension on a Landrover? I know this can be costly and would appreciate any advice
before it's this could become a major issue... And Thank You so much for you time &
kindness to respond.

No Tail Lights were cracked and all was in perfect order...? I just got the shakedown AGAIN by another dishonest Mercedes Mechanic? I'm seriously considering changing to a different make a car, because this is about all I can take! I honestly do not know how people can sleep at night treating women this way...? (And the general public as well...!)

Hi Mr. Phili ~
You sure do seem to know your Mercedes ! I gave my brother a '95 325i Convertible, lives in Lewes DE, & would like to give him your info & have him look you up for maintenance. It's obvious to me that you know these cars In & Out!
What is your advice on the car when parked and the driver's side is siting low? Are the shocks comparable to a Landrover, $$, & a possible issue problem if not treated soon?

Thank You for you invaluable advice Mr. Philli, and will take note of all of your comments!

Amy
