cranks strong, but not firing

'97 E320 with 80,000 miles
Engine cranks strong but does not fire. Could anyone shine some light on this? Thanks.

MB specialty shop diagnosed with code reader and replaced "crank position sensor" but cost $500+. Hope this info will help someone having same problem. Thanks.

Synthetic oils for '97 E320?

I've been using mineral oil but am thinking about changing to the synthetics. My mechanic says mineral oil is fine for my car and get no benefit from synthetics. He claims syn oils are for newer MBs. Anyone has different views?
