in chicago we have this thing called a 'wall job'. anybody else have this creature in your area?

$600 is way over priced! At my dealer our labor rate is $175 an hr. Which is a high labor rate (Silicon Valley). I get paid 2.2 hrs to do 16 plugs. Thats $385 in labor. I dout plugs cost that much.

2.2 hrs!
Is that the "standardised" MB warranty time for changing the plugs or the time you put on the job.
never realised it took that long.

Thats just what we charge the customer for 16 plugs. It really only takes me about 25min. 2.2 hrs is warranty time plus 130%

So warranty time is 55min approx. Correct?

...which is about what I would have expected.

I would say you were trying to prove a point/bet at 25 mins!!

8 dual coils on the m113 v8 you remove the torx screw,pop the boots off with the 17mm boot tool i sell,remove the plugs replace them pop the boots back on install the coils.Done 16 plugs at$2.89 for ngk 7090 plugs.Dealer charges about 16 bucks per plug.
One member they wanted 900 bucks for a plug change........diy
