Default considering purchase of 2000 E320 wagon

Does any one out there have any pointers regarding things to look for when I go see the car? It has only 77k miles, single owner and carfax checks out good. I am just wondering what are some of the standard problems that come up. the guy is asking $12500k for the car.

Watch out for premature rust especially around the rear tail gate license plate and the fender wells. I sold mine because it had these problems and MBUSA only repaired the rockers and the wells but not the surface rust.

Yes,

thanks a lot... I'm going to have it checked thoroughly for rust. I have seen this as a common issue when talking with people as well.... they all say pretty much the same thing. Rusty spring perches seems to be high on the list as well. I GREATLY appreciate your help.

Hi, I have recently moved to the USA from the UK and the first thingI bought was a 2000 E320 Wagon! I paid $9250 down here in Texas, for a good clean one owner example with 103,000 miles. It is carfax clear and appears very original. It does have the odd scratch and stone chip but I felt this was reflected in the price I paid for it.
Do watch for rust as I have seen UK models in the scrap yards at 10 years old due to serious corrosion. Mine being a Texas vehicle does not have any rust and it should stay that way if I take care of it. Also check the climate control is working as it should do. I undertsand the A/C can stop working on some older vehicles through lack of use in the colder climates. I think they are great cars and I am very pleasd with mine. I particularly like the excellent mpg for a car this size. I average around 22mpg on a 14 mile commute and don't touch a highway.
