Hi,
I`m a man from Norway with a MB E220 CDI - 2001 mod. My problem is that the Command unit tapping the battery for 1,9 Ah, when the ignition switch is off and the car stand still. Do You now how i can fix this? When the car is on, all thing on the Command system works perfectly, the cd, the navigation system and all.
My problem is that every morning i need help to start.
The maintainance store tells me i have to by a new Command Unit. This will cost me around 10.000 USD!!!!! here in Norway.
How can i get this fixèd? There must be a cheaper way......

RE: Command unit tapping battery
Charge the battery overnight.Key out of ignition always when charging. Then with the key out remove the battery negative lead
http://w210.pietrzyk.net/disassembly_electrical.htm
and step on the brake pedal for 30 seconds to remove any residule charge in the system, then rehook up the neg lead. This will reset all the systems. start the car,Resyn your window and sunroof per the owners manual turn the steering wheel all the way left to right and back a few times to reset the steering wheel angle sensor.
This may reset the wakeup feature of the comand unit.
Another quick thing to try is to remove the unit and pull the fuse or unplug to reset the unit.Something is keeping it awake and as long as it is working fine when on,there is no need to replace it.

someone should be able to enter the comand diagnostics and see what is going on
