Car: 2003 E500
Problem: Set clock to local time - adjust treble and bass settings - BUT, once the car is shut off and restarted, settings reset to default (time, audio, etc.) each time.
Any ideas?? This is VERY frustrating...
Thanks,
Dave

Hi,
The radio has lost / is losing its permanent memory.
Don't know how the memory in the radio is powered. I don't think there is a battery as is the case with PC's.
Maybe there is an "always on" special supply to the head unit. Unfortunately I don't have a fix for you however I'm interested in what might have provoked this problem.
you checked the fuses just in case?
Did you replace or disconnect the main battery, jump start the car, change radios, etc? or did it just randonly happen one day?
Stuart

I am curious also my first thought it might be a small batt like ina computer since most of the car runs on computers.
Plz keep us informed on what the problem turns out to be.
Thanks
