Climate control problems
hi! I am a newbie in this forum and would appreciate your help. I recently just bought a 1998 MB 240te. I had the dealer run the star diagnostics and found that something was wrong with the the temperature sensor. I said go ahead and repair/replace it. This is where the problem started...Upon probing. it was discovered that part of the control unit was bypassed and a japanese part was placed in lieu of the sensor. Our guess was that the previous owner didn't want to dish out $ to have the control unit replaced as i understand it is quite pricey. My question is would it be difficult to restore this to it's original state? I need your expert opinions on this guys. I thank you in advance for the help you will extend to me.
