While jiggling the damaged wire there was no more than a two second delay (silimar to the delay that the system has when driving into a tunnel) before the climate illumination would be normal. The second the connection is lost it went back to dim.

Just fixing/replacing the ribbon wire is all you'll have to do, I'm sure. Well, that and billing the glass shop!

At this point I would be very happy if its the wire and is simple enough for me to fix. If not, maybe a phone call to the glass shop is next.

Well, I inspected the wire and connection and everything looked normal. I did notice the sensor unit was not quite securley fastened so maybe by puttting everything back together that will work. I tested by shining a flashlight at the display, and only direct light would change the brightness. Ill take a test drive in sunlightin the morning. If that doesnt work, I guess ill order a new sensor. I am visting the dealer later this week to get new window trim pieces installed and may have them chaeck the software side of things. Thanks again for your help.

Just a quick update. I took the car out for a drive today and the display appears to be working normally. Hopefully the connection was just loose and by securely replacing all the connections that took care of the problem.
