Default Check Engine Electronics

My car - '96 E320 has this "Check Engine Electronics" and check engine light ON. Any idea or suggestion the cause of it and I read the forum messages which seems like the MAF or Oxygen Sensor is bad. Anyone knowthe location ofOxygen Sensor is at? How difficult is it to replace it yourself? Thanks in advance for the advise.

Many things can cause a check engine light to go on. Pull codes on it and let us know. O2 sensors are threaded into the exhaust system. You have one before the catalitic converter and one after. They are easy to change out. Just need a 22mm wrench and need to be able to get under the car.

I diagnose the car and it comes-out with error code P1441 "Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow". Does it means anything major will happen? Although my friend has reset the check engine light to switch-off. Thanks in advance for your advise.

There are a few components that go bad in that system.. Nothing that bad will happen. its more of an emissions control....Could be a simple as a bad fuel cap....Or maybe you didnt tighten it down all the way..

I have a similar problem with my 96. I tried to accelerate hard from a dead stop and it immediately started to run rough and would not accelerate. The check engine electronics light came on. I shut off the engine and restarted and it works fine now, but the CEL is still on. How do Icheck the codes? How do I reset?
