Default CD Changer Problem

Anyone who has fooled with these changers might be able to help!

The changer continues to try to send the carriage down to the bottom of the magazine resulting in a constant thump. It actually broke a CD that was partially engaged in teh carriage. I had to unplug the power to make it stop but the radio does not work at all with the DIN plug unplugged.

So, is there a limit switch or some kind of reset button I can use to get the carriage to stop? Or is there anyway I can manually get the magazine out because it now has 6 good cd's in it! one broken....

If anyone has a clue, please let me know, I would like to keep the original stereo in it because its wired to amps, fader in the dash etc.

The car is a '92 400 E.

Does it happen with only cds inside or all the time? it might be a short from the connection that's sending it crazy.

haven't been able to manually get the CD's out. I now have the din plug connected with the power disconnected. when I connect just the power, it goes nuts.
