Ok, saw it. Its the same. I'll try to dismantle it first on my own. I hope I can clean it and I hope it works. If not, I really have to buy this part. [&o]

Thanks.

To Mr sleepwalker and SL600:

I just went to a neighborhood Benz mechanic and he said he would just plug the hose from the engine going to the duovalve since I do not use the heater anyway. They do this on some W124s they service.

Is this an acceptable repair ??? And the cooling will be back to normal??

Thanks in advance.

to sleepwalker:
hahaha , i just understood that post just now " better just put and extra spark plug inside that hose."

Anyway, someone told me this:
The heater flow is required to modulate the evaporator temperature (i.e. prevent icing). Also. the duovalve is on the outlet to the heater, not the inlet. At least it is on all the diagrams I have seen. By blocking a hose, you disable the system's ability to do something it is trying to do, and it will overcompensate (if it can) somewhere else, or just not work quite right if it can't compensate.
Hmmm. is this true?? I would want to save some cash and just plug this thing.

The heater flow is required to modulate the evaporator temperature (i.e. prevent icing
two things prevent the icing. the expansion valve and evaporator temperature sensor. they must be smart enough to know that the heat exchanger's purpose is to warm the car's interior. it instead add humid to the air which fogs the glass... the reason why the air got to pass the evaporator first to dehumidify the air before being heated. and we know that this same humid can create icing if the evaporator's drain is clogged up.

the evaporator temp sensor cuts off the compressor at 2 degrees celcius. when the expansion valve cools, the gas inside the diapgrahm contracts and closes or restricts the flow more. the spring cools and expands...closing it more.
yes, duo valve is located on return side (after the heat exchanger).

i know why you didn't get my comment earlier. i made a scripting error "better just put and extra spark plug inside that hose" i should say "an" not "and".
