Default A/C problem. HELP!! Follow-up question

Hi,
The car is a 1996 E230 W210
The aircon blows cold air on the right side while the left side blows hot air!!
On the Middle air vent, which is separeted by 2 louvers, the right is cold while the other is HOT.
The degrees settings on the left and right of the A/C switch are the same. The car has the digital pushbutton A/C switch

What is the Fix on this?

Thanks for the help

Sounds like a Duo Valve could be the culprit.

Duo Valve
exactly.

since the winter in phils is still coming on a few centuries, better just put and extra spark plug inside that hose. (just kidding).

To Mr Sleepwalker and Mr. SL600: HELP!!

I also pulled out the codes from the A/C switch and came out with a code - B1416. or a COOLANT CIRCULATION PUMP. What is this part?? Do I need this part replaced in my hot climate country?

It also had the B1226 code or the (In-car temp sensor). I actually disconnected this part (on the overhead light) since it produces an irritating buzz. I disconnected this 2 years ago and it never caused any harm to the A/C cooling, DOES IT???

I was expecting a B1417 code or a Duovalve left problem but it did not show up on the car's A/C diagnosis code?

The car blows very cold air on the right side but without cooling on the driver's vent and left side louver of the center vent. Or is it a louver problem?

Please help. I would want to make sure first if this duovalve is really broken since i think this is an expensive part. I also touched that duovalve part located on the right hand passenger side and both are quite hot.

Before you spend any money and time to replace parts, just measure the pressure inside your AC. I had the same problem when there was a leak in the condenser of my E320. When the pressure is low, sometimes you only get cold air on one side.

this is correct. however, the air on the left side will be warm instead of hot.

COOLANT CIRCULATION PUMP
see attached pic. it maintain a uniform flow of heating water through the heating core at low engine speed and in the engine residual heat utilization mode. not really necessary in our country.

it measure the interior temp... disconnecting will not give the control unnit any idea on how much is the interior temp is now. you will be using the manual mode instead and not automatic because the it doesn't know if the desired temp was achieved or not.

[quote][I was expecting a B1417 code or a Duovalve left problem but it did not show up on the car's A/C diagnosis code/quote]that's because the electrical side is working fine. the problem was that the pluger was stucked. opening and cleaning it can solve the problem too. extra care must be taken so it won't leak.

possible.
does it happens on the footwell vent too and side nozzle? they all got separate actuating element. all 3 air flaps cannot go faulty at the same time.

I would want to make sure first if this duovalve is really broken
best way to test is to crimp it shut and observe.

Thanks Sleepwalker.
Now I feel safer that I asked you guys first before going to the repairshop.

BTW, can the duovalve be dismantled? to see if it can be fixed before actually buying a new one? It may be stuck due to those coolant grime??

Thanks.
