Broken Front Springs
I have a 2002 E320 with about 60,000 miles that both front springs have broken. This car is babied and has never been in a wreak, but the dealer almost laughed at me when I complained. Is this a common issue for this car?

Hi I have the same car. 2002 e320 speical edition with 79k on it. I have never had any issues with it. I know a couple people with W210's and they too have not had any issues like this at all. Find a independant shop to take care of it. The dealer laughed at you? What exaclty did they say?

I attempted to get the dealer to work with me on the repair, as broken suspension parts in a street vehicle that is only 6 years old does not make sense to me. But since I did not purchase the extended warranty, they were not interested in any assistance at all. I had a Chevy a few years ago that I found out had a steering link issue witha secret warranty program. Only if you complained to the dealer would they pay for the part if the owner paid the labor. That saved me a few hundred dollars. But not this company.

Not usual at all.Older ones had spring perch problems but those were resolved by your build date.
Springs are cheap and easy to r/r or have a indie shop do it for you.Rust and salt damage in some areas can pose a problem, but you would notice that on other areas of the car.Do you have pictures?$300 or less for repair.Springs can be bought from members that have dropped their suspensions and want to sell the good old units.

Hi,
Spring broken or spring pan adrift?
If spring exactly where and is this the same on both.
Corrosion can be a source of spring failure however salt induced rust is at its worst in the UK where the authorities use copious quantities to avoid "black ice".
I've not heard of this being a major issue over here.

Hi. I had a 2000 E Class. During one of the coldest days here in Ohio a few years (Zero degrees or less)ago my car was parked outside of the garage and my son and I were in the garage with the door opened. All of a sudden we heard the LOUDEST NOISE which you have ever heard. Both front springs broke and the car went down to its suspension. A friend of mine owns a trucking company and he said that is not uncommon for an 18 wheeler to be parked in the dead of winter and all of a sudden the springs would break.

"The Best or Nothing"
2006, Mercedes e320 CDI, both rear springs broken. Common Mercedes, this doesnt even happen with Kia. Although I do admit, I drive my car on roads that most trucks would not venture. It is my "Hiking" car and I drive it hard. so far this is the only failure I have had on the car. Still on the original brakes so I can't complain.
