Question brake Caliper

I just got a 2001 E320 and doing what I always do when I get a used car. I service the brakes. I am going to replace the pads on all wheel and the parking shoe. Anyone knows the torque specifictions on the mounting bolts of the calipers.

Is the front caliper piston a screw type or just like the old ATE calipers that just needs to be push back by a C clamp.

Thanks

Ray

you can just push them in with a c clamp or large channel locks . not sure of the torque on the caliper bolts. but just snug them up.

Hey RayBenz,
how hard is it to get the rotors off to turn them, or do you just slap new pads on and call it good? We have the same car and mine are about due...

thanks.

Default Rotors

If you have itted rotors, it is better to replace than turn them. It cost about $15 per face. So that would be $30. A new rotor will cost about $40 for the rear and about $50 for the front.

If is has rusted in place you need to use a puller to pull the rotors.

Default You don't

turn w210 rotors, not enough material to do it. If not smooth and able to dress and remove glaze you replace them.
Brake diy on w210 forum diy section.
I carry cryo rotors and prepped ceramic pads.Anti- corrosion treated, -300f cryo treated for better operation and longer life
