One thing you may notice that I've seen mentioned in other posts is that it seems that the dongle does not shut off when the car is turned off. If you are in the garage and glance inside the car you'll see the blue lights shining. I guess this is by design but I am not sure why--it does not seem to have an effect on draining the battery but I have not let my car sit for weeks either. It may be so that if you are on a call in the car and shut off the ignition it does not drop the call or something.

Also when my phone is in the house it comes out of sleep mode occasionally, I think it is trying to hook up to the car out in the garage (or vice versa). Very odd.

What model of Blackberry do you have? I can not get my Blackberry Curve 8310 to download my address book to the memory in the car. I've tried everything and have been unable to get it done.

I also have a new Curve. It does it automatically. Press the address book button at the top left of the screen when in the "TEL" mode. Should already be there by alphabet letter. Hope this helps.

I also have a 2008 E350, I bought the bluetooth dongle part# B6 787 5878, the color of the dongle is silver, my Blackberry is Curve 8530. The BB and MB paired I can dial the number but when tried to transfer contacts, it failed with error message "Failed to transfer contact...."

Do you have any idea?

Thanks,

Vinh

I have a 2005 e class. Got a cradle and a phone from ebay for £30 ($45). In England even the new vans have bluetooth as standard. I love my merc, but am surprised that so many things are extras !!

What is your BlackBerry model? And do you have to do anything extra beside paring the phone?

Thanks,

Vinh

Did anyone get this resolved? I switched from a Motorola Karma to a BB Bold 9700 and have the same issue. I have the B67875839 puck which I think is older than the 5878. I can pair the BB and MB and make calls, but when I go into the BB's "transfer contacts" option it immediately comes back and says "transfer failed". The Motorola automatically downloaded the phonebook fine without any action on my part.

I think I saw somewhere on one of the forums where the 5839 is the "first generation" puck and the least compatible with the newer phones. I'm tempted to hit Ebay again and get a 5878, but if anyone can confirm it syncs with the BB Bold it will be appreciated. I figure the newest puck (6131) will work for sure but they are still going for $300+ on Ebay.

Default Bluetooth Volume Problem

Hello All,
I am new to these forums. I just bought 2008 E350 4matic and its great. And I bought I bought Bluetooth Dongle par#: B6 787 5878 and its hook up correctly. The problem I am having is I can call any one and they can hear me well but I can here their voice through the Car Speakers very low. I tried to disconnect and tried few other phones but same problem. I increase the volume in both cell phone and the command center still same issue.

Dose any one of you have any fix/ face this problem. If you do please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info.. I just cancelled my snipe bid for the 5839 model on ebay... now I am hoping the 5878 model is new enough for my Evo phone... anybody know about that?

The 5878 silver/blue works great with HTC Evo. Only thing I noticed is that the unit stays on when my S500 is turned off. Hopefully it doesn't drain my battery.
