Another newbie looking @ 04/05 E wagon
Hi,
We are in the beginning phases of purchasing our next familycar and have been looking at either a MB certified 2004 or 2005 E320 Wagon (have looked at both RWD and 4matic versions).
As I have researched these vehicles there seems to be two camps of owners. Those that love them with little reservation and those that love them but have had an inordinate amount ofreliability issues.
I'm trying to determine if this is a vehicle to avoid or one to purchase, if there is an advantage to either year (the 2006's have not dropped in price yet to where we can afford - maybe we should wait!) and any thoughts on the 4matic vs. RWD.
We are also looking at the 2 year extended warranty @ $1,925 on top of the 1 year certified warrantyand wonder if there are any recommendations either way.
Many thanks in advance for yourshared wisdomand comments.
Regards,
Norge

where are you located?
Get an 03 wagon it is still the w210 model, find one with low miles.get it inspected.
you will save thousands, you will like it just as much,it is user freindly and parts are cheaper and easier to work on.

ohlord,
We are in Virginia. I did test drive a 2002 wagon (31K milesand stillhad two years of MBextended warranty) but it just felt very heavy on the road when compared to the 2004 I test drove. After my initial post I have had some moretime to go over previous posts and I'm thinking a new Honda Pilot might be a better way to go. I loved the E320 Wagon I test drove but it might just be more trouble that it is worth.
