Default air blower control

Hello, i have 1998 E320 and the blower in the car blows at a very slow speed, the dealer says that the blower controller is defective and that i have to replace the intire system at a heffy price. is there any way to just fix this blower . it puts out air, just no where near enough.

Default RE: air blower control

hello you can replace the blower motor regulator and it will probably fix your problem but the blower and regulator have been modified and updated. not sure if your has been modified yet. so when you get the regulator you might have to get a blower with it. you will also need the cover panel that covers the blower motor that is also modified to fit the new blower motor. the old style cover is flat, but the new cover will not be flat and will have an area in it to fit the regulator. if you look at your blower motor cover under the passrenger dash you can tell by looking at the cover if it needs to be modified. i believe the modification is on 98 and 99 e class.
