Default 99 E320 Electrical problem

Has anybody ever seen the door lights, not come on when the door is opened, and come on and wont go off when the door closes? Also, has anyone had a door locking problem with there remote? If anyone has seen any of the sort of problems, could you share how you solved them. Thank you. [:@]

Yes.
The interior light problem is caused by a bad PSE unit (Pneumatic Security).
I assume that between the two conditions you outline in your first sentence you have moved the switch on the front dome light between positions Off/On/Doors.
The remote problem may be the PSE but can also be caused by other problems. Batteries, coding, synchronisation, DAS etc.
If the problems occurred at the same time I would go with PSE.
If you have the vehicle scanned with an OBD reader that can read BODY codes (=main dealer) this will identify the appropriate body fault code. A new PSE will likely need to be coded to set it up for your vehicle unless it comes from a similar model vehicle.

yes you need to check for codes first. be sure and check all the door switches they are located by the door striker that are on the body of the car. also please be sure to check that the plastic trim on the door itself is still intact if it isnt intact it will not push down the door switch when the door is closed and cause a problem just a few things to check that i always see go bad and cause a small problem like this

Hi Vytamenc,
I omitted to state that the switches should be checked.
Easy way to check that door switches are OK is to see whether the seat convenience feature works. This enables you to move the seat when the door is open and the ignition off/no key.
Some cars did have problems with the switches but this one appears to have the classic PSE signature.
