The A/C on my car (VIN A272578) seems cold, but the blower won't change speeds. Local shop told me the problem is with the blower regulator, and that the original part is not available. Must use newer regulator (2108211551) and put in new blower (2108206842) and new mounting plate/cover (2108352740). Estimate is $900 total, with parts costing over $500.

Question: does anybody know of a source for the original regulator, or is it so bad that it fails every time?

I tried to do diagnosis of the system, and the only read-out I can get is E (on the left side of the screen) and FF (on the right). I did a search of the Forum and could only find codes for '94 E320 and '00 CLK430. Neither included FF.

Question: anybody know what FF means and how I can get any other codes to come up? Every time I press AUTO on the right side, it reads FF.
