97 E320 A/C Fan
Help, my A/C in my 97 E320 is now coming out at a trickle. After I let the car sit for a while (overnight) it blows strong for a few minutes, then goes back to a trickle. I read the error codes on the control unit (by turning the left temp to HI and the right to LO and the holding the EC and Recir buttons) and got the following:
E61 459 (first press of the right auto button)
E FF (second press of the right auto button)
Can anyone tell me what these codes mean?
What should I check / replace and where are they located?
Will I have to take the dash apart? If so, how?
I can't afford another trip to the Benz dealer until I win the lotto, just paid $900 to replace the mass air flow sensor that left me stranded on the side of the road.
Thanks in advance for your time!

It is the inside blower, works sometimes, other times it is stuck on low speed even though the AUTO controls indicate full blast (minus one block...never goes full speed in AUTO).
Can you tell me where the regulator is located, how to replace it, do I have to take the dash apart?
Also, when I went to a parts site, I found the following note for ALL 1997 E320 chassis:
"On models prior to listed chassis cut-offs, additional parts are required due to supersession of blower motor and regulator. New regulator will require (1) 210 820 68 42 blower motor and (1) 210 835 27 40 blower mounting plate"
Do you know where I can get a regulator that will fit or do I have to replace all these parts?
Thanks Sleepwalker

Thanks Sleepwalker, that's the right picture. Now I need to go buy a torx set to get the cover off.
The dealer says they have a three piece regulator to replace the one in there now for $270.
Is it worth it to buy this regulator or invest another two hundred and buy a new blower, mounting plate and regulator from a mail order company, their regulators are about $173 but require the newer blower? Just wondering if you know how long the original blower can be expected to last being almost 9 years old already, I use the A/C everyday here in Hawaii.
Has anyone replaced the blower regulator with the new parts (210 821 1551), blower motor (210 820 6842) and mounting plate (210 835 2740)? Is it an easy upgrade, or did you encounter problems? Just wondering what I'd be getting into by going down this route.
Thanks again.
