Default 96 E320 - Wiper and other Elec Problems

When first starts the wipers, the garage door opener, the high beam (pull, push to lock on works), driver's seat adjustments do not work (actually the driver's seat adjusts - but only forward no matter which way I push the button). If I turn the car off and immediatly back on - all items above work (sometimes it takes a couple attempts).

This car has 253000 miles. The transmission was just rebuilt. I want to sell it, but probably have to fix the above first. So far my mechanics have been guessing. Anyone have a solid lead? Ignition switch? Wiring harness?

Thanks,

Interesting.

Straight guess.

Try disconnecting the battery for a while...(make sure you have your radio code available!)

Alternatively its possible that the drivers door seat switch unit is defective.

Please advise outcome.

Stuart, Thanks for comments. Battery disconnect does not solve. Internet research points to ignition switch, but no one is sure. I've been quoted $400 for Ignition switch replacment. I do have intermittent problems with the driver side seat. Sometimes it only goes back - even when pushing the button forward. I'll try pulling the fuse for the seat and see what happens (my problem devices seem to be on 2 or 3 different circuits). Keep you informed about my saga!
