wiper motor "chatters" and wiper still stuck
1999 C230 Kompressor
My windshield wiper has become stuck. I read in this forum about lubing the 3 wiper shafts with white lithium lube to free the mechanism. I did this and it still sticks. I even removed the wiper, all the shafts and it still sticks.
It will move off park to the "starting" position, hang there and the motor "chatters". I can manually move the wiper to the right side of the windshield and it will come back on it's own, but then stick again. All this with now wiper or wiper shafts installed.
Any ideas what is wrong?

Thanks for your replies?
In this case I had to replace the wiper motor. The big nylon gear that the worm gear on the motor drives had stripped out. Since the gear is not available as a seperate purchase, the wiper motor itself has to be replaced. There are deals on the internet to purchase these other than going to the dealer.
This job wasn't all that bad. Getting the air vent cover off was the hardest part. It was also kinda cool to run the assembly on the bench and dodge all the motion the thing makes.
