Default 96 E320 stalling

I have a 96 E320 with 90,000 mi. Normally it runs fine but every now and then it will just quit. Almost always starts right back up and keeps going. It happens when cold and hot. Normally while at a intersection but twice it did it at speed. Actaully didn't die at speed but tach and speedo went to zero momentarily and dash lights came on. Then all went back to normal. Has anyone experienced this? Any fixes out there?

Default RE: 96 E320 stalling

I have a couple of ideas for you if it's a straight six which are the ignition switch or the overvoltage protection relay. I'd be more suspicious of the ignition switch though. Try jiggling the key while the engine is running to see if you can reproduce the fault.
