I have a 1996 E320. The digital readout in the center of the instrument cluster pixelated about three months ago. Most of the pixels are still active and the center section is about half brightness...some information almost illegible.

MB dealer said that the entire cluster needs replacing at a tune of $900, and that's with a refurbished unit.

A friend has a new recycling center and found an instrument cluster from a '99 E320 for $250. Anyone know whether this '99 is the same as the '96?
